I am looking for people to be part of a short documentary about bed bugs and New York City. The piece will be for the film festival market and will have a total running time of around 15 minutes. If you have a story that you feel the need to share,I would love to hear from you, - the more extreme and dramatic the better! The time committment would be around 3 days spread out over a couple of months. The goal is to start shooting in March.

No one is talking about how bad the bed bug thing is in New York.
I was bite about 1 month ago and freaked out.
I live with 2 other roommates. They honestly do not care and say they can
live with them and they will not give you cancer. Meanwhile, I am scared to death
to pass this to anyone else.
They are not allergic to the bites and either don't get them or don't react
to them
Meanwhile, I have done everything,
I can to not spread and elimnate this bug. I am living in plastic and chemicals.
They go to work and just carry on like it is nothing.
THEY are spreading bugs to there friends and the public.
After the second pco, I hired the bb dogs to come in an check out the apt, to make
sure they were gone.
Because before this we had not found a bug and everyone was saying its in my head
and i was still getting bit.
When I found out they had on the 4 th floor,I demanded my landlord treat, even with
no bug as evidence. They mulitiply so fast
Any how, The dogs found 3 places in my apt and them I caught one in a trap.
I had to threaten to take my roommates to Housing court to get them to help do the
proper prep.
One is on a work visa and wants no trouble.
Instead of letting me help them clean and inspect there stuff, because now they
are just moving, breaking the lease. Not because of the bugs, but because I have
been so angry with them.
They just packed it up tight and are bringing it with them to there new apt.
They spend the night at their friends, ride the subway, go to fancy firm and do
not have
time to clean there clothes and seal in plastic and do all the things need, to not
pass on to the public.
They are a menace to society. I want these people flogged and educate the public.
You should be able to fill hours of footage on this topic...best of luck to you and hopefull the government will wake up and start to spearhead some funded research to get rid of these bastards.
Home Clean Home teams of bedbug management ,are trained to eliminate bedbugs, we have been in business since 1993. Home Clean Home was voted the best cleaning company in Brooklyn; we pride ourselves with quality of work, and price efficient service. While some companies overprice the customers, we would like to share our extensive experience, and find the service to suite all needs.
Getting rid of bedbug Success will depend on your cooperation. Allow the technicians access to inspect the apartment thoroughly, focusing on the bedrooms, and finding hiding places. Clean and get rid of clutter to eliminate their shelter. Pesticide bedbugs in the entire area, At times the mattress can’t be salvaged we can get rid of the old mattress and get a new mattress, and pillows at wholesale price, all must be covered with a bedbug proof covers which we can provide at wholesale price as well. Repairs all cracks, seal the crevices in order to eliminate their shelter, caulking will work well in many areas, bedbug infested laundry need to be washed in extreme temperatures; cold or hot. Last, because that when they feed for about five to ten minutes at night, they’ll remain in hiding for several days while digesting the meal and can survive for about six months without feeding, eggs hatch in about ten days, all those facts emendate for service plans, depending on ones needs.
Bed bugs cleaning method; primarily we use all natural, steam cleaning, and high suction vacuum. We find the hiding places in the daytime and try to determine the severity of problem. Early in infestation bed bugs are likely to be found only about the seams, tufts or folds of mattresses or daybed covers, but later they spread to crevices in the bedsteads. In severe infestation, they may be found behind baseboards, window and door casings, pictures and picture frames, in furniture, loosened wallpaper, and cracks.
Service area; all the five borough of New York, including Long Island, and parts of NY State.

Wrong!!
The earliest infestation starts inside the box spring. More over they are introduced into the living room first and then move to the bedroom. A cleaning company is now telling people they can eliminate a bed bug infestations? I have seen it all now.
I would be interested in knowing more about the documentary assuming it is probably completed by now (February, 2009) I live in a 10-unit co-op and am one of the seven shareholders whose units became infected with bed bugs. Although I think we are free of bites we are certainly not free of worry. Still living out of plastic and finishing up the extensive renovation necessitated by the bugs' presence. The expense is mind-boggling.
I would make sure you address in the film how bedbugs are spread and how to prevent bringing them into their homes.

Government funding is not the answer. We don't need new tools to go after bedbugs. New and better products would certainly be welcome, but the #1 most effective solution to a bed bug problem is experience and thoroughness. If you cut any corners or miss anything your likelihood of failure goes up rapidly. People want answers which are simple, there it is, it just requires a lot of time and patience to put into effect. It takes hours to do a bed bug job properly, and that isn't likely to change with any new research.
