An apology is likely in order.
Bedbugs have been showing up just about EVERYWHERE in the news recently, most notably, perhaps, in today's New York Times article in the real estate section. Membership in the Yahoo! support group has surged in the last three weeks. E-mails have been flooding in and I have not been able to respond.
I simply have not been able to keep up, and I apologize.
However, I would like to point you in the direction of someone who has not only taken the reins but has done an excellent and incredibly thorough job of putting together loads of useful information for people who want to learn about and get support for dealing with bedbugs. Please check out this site. It is everything I wish this site could be.
I don't know if I will be able to come back to this site, but honestly, it feels more right to pass the baton at this point. I have been bedbug-free for 13 months now. Of course I am always willing to provide support to those who need or want it, but the best information is elsewhere for now.
Thanks for visiting and for all your support over the last year. As always, my best to you in your quest to defeat the enemy.

"Okay, this is war. These things are ready to suck your blood the moment they hatch. I found one so small that it was about half the size of a pen head and it had blood in it. At this stage their bodies are fragile and you will likely kill them if you feel them biting but because they are so small you cannot see them and there are probably thousands if not tens of thousands in your carpet.
The big ones that come out at four in the morning you can see and kill but I think that it is the small tiny ones that you have to worry about. I went to a popular hardware store and bought Enforcer flea and tick killer in the red can that sells for about four dollars. The directions say to put it on the carpet and vacuum it up after two hours. It also says that it stops the egg life cycle. I'll let you know how effective it is. Wish me luck."
The results are in. The enemy has been destroyed. The stuff is inexpensive and it really works but be careful as it is highly toxic. Use as directed and you'll be okay.
Good luck.
Thanks Caitlin! Without your blog, or your hosting of the yahoo Bedbugger group, there would be no Bedbugger blog. I hope you'll check in now and then, if only to reassure us you're still bedbug free! Otherwise, enjoy the rest of life, you deserve it!
Oh, and I hope you'll keep your "list of known infestations up." It really is an amazing service.
All the best!
K.
Caitlin,
I want to personally thank you for creating your blog. Yours was the first refuge I found when I discovered BBs in my home a couple of weeks ago. It's been an exhausting journey, and it's not over yet.
But your blog, and your excellent recounting of your own battle has helped me formulate my own strategy, and I know that because you took the time to create this blog, I will suffer less thanks to you. I think that only a person who has lived through this knows the meaning of that. I'm really grateful for your generous sharing of knowledge & experience. You have done your part.
Now it's time for others to carry on your great work.
Go, be free, Caitlinator! Enjoy your BB free life! May we all join you soon!
Gratefully,
M

Banish Bed Bugs Information
My name is Socheata and I’m a journalist in New York. I’m interested in talking to anyone else who has had bed bug infestations. I’m working on a story about the bed bug infestation and the refurbished mattress industry. I can be emailed at sopoeuv@hotmail.com
We have suffered with a bug so tiny you cannot see it. Exterminator says he can't treat anything he cannot see. We have sprayed enough chemicals to kill us and no relief. They land on you and you can feel them because they tickle your skin, but there is nothing there. First noticed this after I moved and hired a van to move my furniture. Have suffered for 4 years. Is there such a thing as bed bugs so small that they cannot be seen just felt and they do bight, but leave no marks.
This will sound crazy but I tried the benadryl spray that you can buy at Kroger. I sprayed it directly on them and they died within a minute or two. It's like they are paralyzed and they can't move and then the alcohol in the spray kills them. It is awesome!
